As expensive as YouTube TV’s NFL Sunday Ticket package is, it’s no wonder some users seem to be cancelling their subscriptions halfway through the year. User reports indicate that cancellations are causing discounts to show up in their inboxes.
According to one report from a user on Reddit, YouTube TV has begun sending emails to users who have cancelled their subscriptions, asking them to return. The email notes a discount of $96 off of NFL Sunday Ticket.
With a discount of $96, that puts YouTube TV subscribers at $282 for NFL Sunday Ticket. The post author indicated that they were a previous YouTube TV subscriber and had cancelled after March Madness had ended. With that, it appears YouTube added them to a list with an initiative to bring users back to an active subscription.
A couple of commenters noted that they received an email offer, but it was for only $48 off. No others indicated that they got the same offer.
The NFL Sunday Ticket package comes in at $378 for the regular NFL season for users who are already subscribed to YouTube TV. The standalone offering hits $480 for the year, but it jumps when RedZone is added or if users choose to go month-to-month.
This prospective discount comes as YouTube TV officially announced its new NFL Sunday Ticket pricing for the year. There are no increases from last year, though the service still isn’t as affordable as it was when it initially launched.
YouTube hasn’t made mention of the returning subscriber discounts, so there’s no word on to what extent users will get discounted offers.
